Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council invites students or recent graduates to join the My Summer Workplace 12-week paid internship program. Commencing November 2026 and concluding February 2027, the role runs four days per week with a two-week unpaid break over Christmas.

You will gain practical experience across road, drainage and landfill projects, be mentored by professionals, and build networks while contributing to sustainable infrastructure on the Sunshine Coast.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a tertiary course and eligible to work in Australia.
• Recent graduate within 12 months or completed a TAFE Diploma within 12 months.
• Able to attend the Assessment Centre on 29 October 2026.
• Australian working rights: Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid visa with unrestricted work rights.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience delivering civil construction projects (road, drainage, landfill).
• Assist project engineers with planning, coordination and project delivery.
• Attend site visits and project meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
• Track project progress and help keep key milestones on schedule.
• Assist with project documentation, reporting and contract administration.
• Work alongside experienced professionals across the full project lifecycle.
