Job summary

Bayside Council in Sydney, NSW, seeks a Manager City Projects to provide strategic leadership for planning, design and delivery of major projects, community facilities, open space improvements and city-shaping infrastructure.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering complex projects from concept to completion, oversee capital investment programs and advise the Executive Leadership Team on priorities and risks.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading major capital works, infrastructure or construction programs.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex, high‑value and high‑profile projects.
• Strong financial, governance, procurement and contract management expertise.
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of Council's capital works and strategic infrastructure portfolio.
• Drive major and complex projects from concept planning through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Provide strategic advice to the General Manager, Executive Leadership Team and Council on project priorities, risks and investment opportunities.
• Manage significant capital budgets and ensure strong governance, financial stewardship and project performance.
• Build productive relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, industry partners, community stakeholders and elected representatives.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of project professionals, fostering innovation, accountability and excellence in project delivery.
