Job summary

Medibank Private Limited in Australia is seeking an experienced CIAM Engineer to join our Digital & Technology team. You will help deliver secure, scalable customer identity experiences across Medibank brands.

You will work with Auth0 and Okta, support BAU and delivery initiatives, contribute to feature development, migrations, and critical authentication services, collaborating closely with engineering, security and delivery teams. This role is open to candidates across the East Coast.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on CIAM experience (Auth0/Okta) required.
• Strong IAM concepts: OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, session management.
• Experience designing identity integrations across web apps, APIs & mobile.
• Proven troubleshooting in production environments.
• Experience with AWS and microservices architectures.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder collaboration across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain CIAM capabilities across Auth0 and Okta.
• Provide L2/L3 support for identity services including authentication, SSO and MFA.
• Deliver identity integrations across web, mobile and backend APIs.
• Partner with engineering to implement new authentication journeys and CX enhancements.
• Support Okta-to-Auth0 migrations and CIAM modernization efforts.
• Create and maintain technical docs, runbooks and automation solutions.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced CIAM Engineer to join our Digital & Technology team and play a key role in delivering secure, scalable and seamless customer identity experiences across Medibank brands.

You'll work with modern identity platforms including Auth0 and Okta, supporting both business-as-usual operations and strategic delivery initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to new feature development, platform enhancements, migration programs and critical customer authentication services, while working closely with engineering, security and delivery teams.

Note that we are open to candidates anywhere across the East Coast

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, implement and maintain CIAM capabilities across Auth0 and Okta, including authentication flows, identity provider connections, MFA policies, APIs and customer experience configurations.
• Provide L2/L3 support for customer identity services, investigating and resolving authentication, SSO, MFA and integration-related issues.
• Deliver and support identity integrations across web applications, mobile platforms and backend APIs.
• Partner with engineering teams and delivery squads to implement new authentication journeys, account management capabilities and customer experience enhancements.
• Support platform migration initiatives, including Okta-to-Auth0 transitions and broader CIAM modernisation activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks and automation solutions that improve platform reliability and efficiency.

Must haves:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with CIAM platforms, ideally Auth0 and/or Okta.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, authentication and session management.
• Experience designing and delivering identity integrations across web applications, APIs and mobile platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience supporting critical production environments.
• Knowledge of AWS and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments and balancing BAU support with project delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
