Job summary

Medibank Private Limited in Victoria seeks a Senior Full Stack Mobile Engineer to lead mobile solutions for iOS and support Android where needed. You will own end-to-end delivery, mentor engineers and drive best practices in a fast-moving, customer‑centric environment.

You'll collaborate with product, design and engineering colleagues to build scalable, secure mobile experiences that deliver meaningful outcomes for members and the business.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing native iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Deep understanding of modern architecture patterns including MVVM, MVVM-C, MVP and Clean Architecture.
• Experience implementing automated testing practices, including XCUITest and Unit Testing.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Fastlane.
• Experience with code quality, security and static analysis tools.
• Exposure to Android development technologies including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience integrating APIs using REST and/or GraphQL.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and modern engineering practices.
• Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, Miro and Slack.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of high‑quality mobile solutions, with a primary focus on iOS and support for Android development where required.
• Own development initiatives from estimation through to deployment, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and to a high standard.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentorship to engineers across the team.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to technical design decisions, engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support system, integration and user acceptance testing activities.
• Champion robust CI/CD practices, code quality standards and secure development practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support platform evolution and operational excellence.
• Actively participate in engineering guilds, communities of practice and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Stay across emerging technologies, industry trends and mobile engineering innovations to help shape future solutions.

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Mobile Engineer to join our Digital Platform & Engineering team and play a key role in shaping exceptional mobile experiences for our customers.

In this role, you’ll lead the development of high-performing iOS applications while also contributing to Android initiatives where required. You'll work closely with engineers, designers, product teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and customer-centric solutions that create meaningful business outcomes.

This is an opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys balancing hands‑on technical delivery with technical leadership. You'll have ownership of end‑to‑end initiatives, influence engineering standards and best practices, mentor other engineers, and help drive continuous improvement across our mobile engineering capability.

Key Responsibilities:
