Job summary

Compassion Australia is seeking a Church Partnerships Manager to strengthen NSW church partnerships and mobilize support for child sponsorship. You will connect with pastors, leaders and volunteers to grow partnerships and represent Compassion at churches, conferences and gatherings.

Based in NSW with hybrid work, you will travel domestically as needed and collaborate with the NSW/ACT church team to expand Compassion’s impact across Sydney and regional NSW.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen or permanent resident status.
• Proven ability to build stakeholder relationships and meet measurable goals.
• Strong networking and relationship-building across diverse audiences.
• Experience in lead generation and developing new opportunities.
• Experience cultivating, nurturing and growing existing partnerships.
• In-depth knowledge of local church context.
• Understanding of global poverty and community development through biblical lens.
• Confidence speaking in churches, conferences and public settings.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Track record of achieving or exceeding goals.
• Deep commitment to Christ and Compassion’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Identify, activate and grow new church partnerships across Sydney and regional NSW.
• Build long-term relationships with existing church partners and deepen engagement.
• Develop local initiatives aligned with Compassion’s national strategy.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Compassion presentations at churches, conferences and pastors’ gatherings.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Compassion and Strategic Partnerships team.
• Build relationships with Compassion’s volunteer presenter network across NSW.
• Participate in domestic or international travel with strategic partners as required.
