Job summary

Bengalla Mining Company in the Hunter Valley is seeking a Reliability Advisor (Electrical) to join the CHPP Reliability team. You will apply your technical knowledge to improve safety, availability, reliability and cost efficiency through data analysis, field verification and defect-elimination projects.

This residential, Monday–Friday role provides a lifestyle-friendly work arrangement and the chance to contribute to a stable, respected mining operation.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification.
• CHPP or similar fixed plant maintenance experience.
• Pulse experience advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance planning and execution teams through active field engagement with technicians and key stakeholders.
• Identify defects through analysis of technical reports, downtime events and failure data.
• Assess, prioritise and manage reliability and defect elimination projects to improve safety, availability, reliability and cost.
• Review component strip reports and conduct failure analysis to guide tactics.
• Monitor and review effectiveness of existing tactics with CHPP team and stakeholders.
• Support shutdown planning processes and scope.
• Assist Off-Site Repairs (OSR) team with component rebuild, repair and replacement scopes.
• Support infrastructure team with reliability/condition monitoring functions.

The Opportunity

Due to operational growth, we are seeking a Reliability Advisor (Electrical) to join our CHPP Reliability team to help improve safety, availability, reliability and cost efficiency.

The CHPP Reliability Advisor is a key technical resource within the CHPP Maintenance team and works across all areas of the CHPP. Reporting to the CHPP Reliability Specialist, their primary objective is to use their technical knowledge to improve reliability and availability through analysis of equipment performance data, in-field verification and the completion of reliability / defect elimination projects.

• Provide technical support to maintenance planning and execution teams through active field engagement with technicians and key stakeholders

• Assess, prioritise and manage reliability and defect elimination projects to deliver improvements in safety, availability, reliability and cost
• Review component strip reports and conduct failure analysis so that tactics can be developed and/or refined
• Monitor and review the effectiveness of the existing tactics through close collaboration with the CHPP team and other key stakeholders within the CHPP Department
• Provide technical support input into the shutdown planning process and scope
• Provide technical support for Off-Site Repairs (OSR) team regarding component rebuild, repair and replacement scopes
• Support the infrastructure team with reliability/condition monitoring functions

Qualifications and experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Electrical trade qualification
• Tertiary engineering or asset management qualifications will be highly regarded but not essential
• Previous CHPP or similar fixed plant maintenance experience
• Previous exposure to a Maintenance Management system (Pulse experience would be advantageous but not essential)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence all levels of the business
