Job summary

Kestrel Coal Midco in Queensland is seeking a CHPP Production Operator to join our safety‑focused team. You will operate and monitor the CHPP plant, respond to alarms, and work with maintenance and operations to keep production safe, reliable and efficient.

This permanent, site-based role offers a 7/7 roster, on‑site housing or a relocation allowance, and development pathways to grow with the operation while upholding our safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience operating fixed plant in heavy industry.
• Strong safety awareness and risk management.
• Clear communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to perform physical work in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor CHPP plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete routine inspections, identifying hazards and escalating concerns.
• Respond to alarms and process changes in line with site procedures.
• Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, isolations, housekeeping and basic maintenance.
• Accurately completing shift logs, production records and handovers.
• Work with maintenance, laboratory and operations to troubleshoot issues and improve plant reliability.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture by following procedures and managing risk.
