Peabody Energy is seeking a day shift CHPP Electrician for the Wilpinjong Mine, located 50 kilometres northeast of Mudgee. The role involves maintaining fixed plant used to prepare coal for transport to domestic and export terminals, reporting to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor.

The position requires NSW Electrical Supervisor's licence and experience with fixed-plant maintenance, strong safety focus, and the ability to work with limited supervision. Relocation support is offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold NSW Electrical Supervisor's licence and have demonstrated maintenance experience on fixed plant equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
• Strong commitment to safety, risk management and procedural compliance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, maintain and modify CHPP electrical equipment.
• Maintain records of tests, maintenance, modifications and repairs.
• Follow established procedures for installation and testing of electrical systems.
• Suggest improvements to equipment to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor.
• Ensure a clean, hazard-free work area and proper spare parts management.
• Operate with minimal supervision while adhering to safety rules.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a day shift Electrician to join our Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) team at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open cut mine located 50 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor, the day shift electrician will utilise their skills and qualifications to maintain fixed plant used to prepare coal for transportation to domestic power generators and export shipping terminals.

Key duties of the role include, but not limited to:

• Responsible to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor for the inspection, repair, maintenance and approved modifications of electrical equipment.


• Maintain complete equipment records and documentation related to tests, maintenance, modifications, and repairs.


• Responsible for following the test, maintenance, and installation procedures established as acceptable for the equipment under the care of this department. May assist in the development of procedures or the checkout of electrical systems where established procedures are inadequate and non-existent.


• Recommend improvements and modifications of the electrical equipment to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor through the continuous improvement process.


• Comply with all established safety rules, company policies, and procedures.


• Assist in maintaining an adequate supply of electrical spare parts.


• Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.


• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and prints, ability to do various forms of paperwork (written), and use of simple algebra are each essential to this position.


• Ability to work without close, direct supervision.

About you:

NSW Electrical supervisors' licence or equivalent.

Relevant experience from a fixed plant maintenance background in a similar industry.
