Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the CH-47F Chinook rotor wing platform. This role is based in Enoggera, QLD, and focuses on sustaining engineering support, overseeing the full lifecycle of engineering changes, and providing frontline people management for the engineering team.

You will leverage your engineering expertise to lead technical, customer, and project activities, building a high-performance, collaborative team across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or related discipline (RPEQ and/or CPEng desirable).
• 10+ years' experience in complex sustainment, development, or integration projects.
• Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams while delivering technical outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering and lifecycle management.
• Experience with Change Management and engineering artefacts.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage and influence stakeholders.
• Experience with Defence Aviation Safety Requirements (DASRs).
• Rotorcraft/CH-47 systems knowledge is desirable.
• Aerospace or defence project management experience highly regarded.
• Experience in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and senior technicians with coaching and performance management.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance on sustainment and engineering changes.
• Develop and govern execution against engineering plans and strategies.
• Serve as a key customer interface to clarify requirements and communicate status.
• Balance resources and priorities for optimal deployment.
• Identify skill gaps and recruit or develop talent aligned to project needs.
• Lead projects through system engineering reviews and gate processes.
• Track performance metrics and implement continuous improvements.
• Foster an inclusive team environment encouraging innovation.
