Job summary

The Salvation Army in Howrah, TAS is seeking a part-time Children & Families Ministry Assistant (Operations) to lead and coordinate ministry operations, ensuring programs and volunteers align with the mission and values. Reporting to Corps Officers, this role is permanent and part-time, 19 hours per week, based on site in Howrah, Tasmania.

You will develop age-appropriate faith programs for children 0–12, train and support volunteers, and ensure safeguarding compliance while building strong

Qualifications

• Commitment to Christian faith and TSA mission.
• Certificate IV level in ministry or equivalent.
• Ability to facilitate groups and one-to-one sessions.
• Experience with safeguarding and child-safety requirements.
• National police check required.
• Drivers Licence
• Working With Children Check

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate children and families programs and activities.
• Build relationships with children and families to increase participation.
• Develop age-appropriate faith and discipleship programs for 0–12 years.
• Equip and support parents, carers and volunteers.
• Recruit, train and lead volunteers with safeguarding standards.
• Collaborate with ministry leaders to meet safety and risk management standards.
