Job summary

Active Kids Group is seeking an experienced Cook for Rose Bay Cottage in Sydney. The role focuses on planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, aligned with health standards and mealtime best practices.

You will ensure dietary and cultural needs are met, maintain kitchen hygiene, and contribute to a positive eating environment while collaborating with educators and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook in childcare/educational setting preferred.
• Knowledge of children's nutritional needs and healthy menu planning.
• Willingness to obtain food handling certification if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children in line with centre requirements.
• Follow Munch & Move guidelines when developing menus and food offerings.
• Ensure all meals meet dietary, cultural, allergy, and intolerance requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness in accordance with regulations.
• Manage food ordering, stock control, and budget considerations.
• Develop seasonal menus that encourage healthy eating habits in children.
• Work collaboratively with educators to support positive mealtime experiences.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety legislation and childcare regulations.
