Amy Hurd Early Learning Centre is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for infants to preschoolers. You’ll plan balanced menus, cater to dietary needs, and maintain a safe, efficient kitchen in partnership with the Centre Director.

The role requires food safety training, NSW Food Safety Supervisor certification, and a NSW Working with Children Check, plus strong organisational skills and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing nutritious meals for young children and catering for allergies and special diets.
• Relevant food handler training and practical food safety skills.
• Current NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
• Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Friendly, respectful approach and ability to work with the Centre team.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks with age-appropriate portions.
• Plan menus with Centre Director within approved budget.
• Cater for allergies, medical needs and cultural preferences.
• Check ingredients, prevent allergen cross-contact and verify special diets.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, organised kitchen with safe storage and temp control.
• Order supplies, coordinate deliveries, rotate stock and minimise waste.
• Keep records for food prep, cleaning, temperature and dietary info up to date.
• Communicate with educators about attendance, dietary updates and meal timing.
