Job summary

Little Wallabies in Turramurra on Sydney's Upper North Shore seeks an experienced Cook to join our small family-owned childcare centre. You will prepare meals for up to 40 children daily, following a set menu and dietary guidelines.

This permanent part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm (20 hours per week), with a focus on nutritious meals, food safety and teamwork with centre staff.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
• Australian permanent residency, citizenship, or a valid working visa
• Ability to complete National Child Safety Training through Geccko within 2 weeks of starting
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain

Position Details

• Following an established set menu and dietary guidelines

Essential Requirements

• Current NSW Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain before commencement)
• Australian permanent residency, Australian citizenship, or a valid working visa
• Ability to complete National Child Safety Training through Geccko (mandatory for all childcare staff) - this must be completed within 2 weeks of starting in the role.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent
• Previous experience preparing meals in a childcare, school, aged care or similar setting
• Strong organisational and time management skills, ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude
