Job summary

Little Bees Childcare Rosebery is seeking a dedicated Cook/Chef to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for children on a 4-week rotating menu, ensuring allergies and dietary needs are catered for.

The role focuses on food safety, portion control, ordering and collaboration with the Centre Manager to sustain a healthy eating program that supports children’s growth and development. You will maintain records and contribute to a warm, nurturing mealtime environment with families and educators.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, Nutrition or Early Childhood Education.
• Experience in a cooking role, preferably in early childhood settings.
• Experience planning menus with dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Working with Children Check and relevant food safety certificates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea using a 4-week rotating menu.
• Cater for allergies, special dietary needs and cultural preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, storage and preparation.
• Order, manage food supplies and coordinate deliveries.
• Collaborate with Centre Manager to maintain a healthy menu.
• Maintain records on food prep, temps and dietary requirements.
• Create a positive mealtime experience and build relationships with families and educators.
