Inspire Early Learning Journey – Pakenham VIC

We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Cook to join our Pakenham team at Inspire Early Learning Journey. In this role, you will be responsible for planning nutritionally balanced meals for children aged 6 months to 6 years, following the Feed Australia program to be responsible for menu planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks.
• Review menu plans seasonally and submit them to the Centre Manager for approval, ensuring adherence to campus budgets.
• Create a 4-week rotating menu, display it within the campus, and distribute it to families via email.
• Plan and conduct workshops for families on healthy meal preparation.
• Organize cooking demonstrations or activities with groups of children at the campus.
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding special dietary needs for children.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in the kitchen.

Qualification and Essential Experience:

• Relevant food safety supervisor (HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005 & HLTFSE007) certificates or commercial cookery certificates
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Highly regarded if you also hold (or currently studying towards) a recognised Early Childhood Education and Care course and are willing to assist with Educator duties (opportunities for additional shifts)
• Proven ability in all areas of cookery including purchasing, menu planning, meeting nutritional guidelines, working with allergies and budgets
• Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
• Demonstrated knowledge of food handling guidelines
• Organised, neat, clean, and pay attention to details.
