Job summary

Little Lane Early Learning Centre in Melbourne is seeking a chef/cook to deliver delicious, nutritious meals for children aged 0-5. Prior experience in an Early Learning Centre is advantageous and will be valued in a supportive team.

You will plan menus, purchase ingredients, and ensure food safety standards are met while contributing to a positive, caring centre culture.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Nutrition Australia guidelines for young children.
• Experience in a similar Early Learning Centre setting.
• Experience in menu planning and purchasing.
• Experience in managing a Food Safety Plan (Class 1).
• Vic Working with Children Check or ability to apply.
• Food Safety Supervisors Certificate.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

About the role?

We are actively recruiting for a chef/cook who understands the importance of delivering delicious and nutritious food to children aged 0-5. Prior experience in an Early Learning Centre will be advantageous.

The minimum requirements for this role are:

Cert III of Commercial Cookery or equivalent,

Strong understanding of Nutrition Australia guidelines for young children,

Experience in a similar setting,

Experience in menu planning and purchasing,

Experience in management Food Safety Plan, Class 1

VIC Working with Children Checkor the ability to apply

Food Safety Supervisors Certificate,

Excellent communication and team work skills
