The City of Canada Bay Council is seeking an experienced Child Safety Officer to join the People & Culture team in a newly created role. You will place the safety, wellbeing and rights of children and young people at the centre of how Council plans and delivers services.

This position partners with the Community, Culture & Leisure directorate to ensure Council’s services, programs, facilities and activities involving children and young people meet the Child Safe Standards and related

Competenze

• Experience in child safety, safeguarding, child protection, compliance or risk management with knowledge of Child Safe Standards.
• Experience administering compliance programs and reporting systems, developing policies and procedures, and coordinating training or awareness initiatives.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and compliance reviews, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication with ability to collaborate and advise on child safety matters.
• Current Working with Children Check and Class C Driver Licence.

Mansioni

• Partner with Managers, Coordinators and staff to support compliance with Child Safe Standards and policies.
• Use a risk-based approach to strengthen child safety across services, programs, events and facilities.
• Support development and review of child safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Coordinate and monitor Working With Children Check obligations and mandatory training.
• Maintain compliance records and report trends, risks and training completion to leadership.
• Support the Children’s Services Manager and Leadership Group to deliver training and awareness initiatives.
