Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Senior Practitioner to provide specialist child protection advice, supervision and oversight within the Child Safety Service Centre in Ipswich. You will guide assessment, intervention and case management to high standards in accordance with legislation and practice guidelines.

You will supervise staff, develop processes, and liaise with team leaders to enhance practice in investigation, risk assessment and complex cases across the region.

Qualifications

• Degree is mandatory per Qualification Requirements.
• Blue Card administered by Queensland Public Safety Business Agency is mandatory.
• C class driver''s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice, guidance and oversight to ensure high-standard child protection services are delivered in line with legislation and practice guidelines.
• Provide practice supervision individually and in groups to Child Safety Officers and Senior Child Safety Officers.
• Oversee services that are accountable, collaborative and culturally appropriate for each child, young person, family and community.
• Develop and implement systems, processes and strategies aligned with legislative requirements and practice standards to improve service quality.
• Support a quality practice and continuous improvement ethos through supervision of staff.
• Establish and maintain relationships with Senior Team Leaders and Child Safety Officers to build capability in investigation, assessment, risk assessment and complex case management.
• Facilitate group practice development and supervision sessions to build capability within the Service Centre.
• Support regional staff on complex matters within specialist knowledge area.
• Provide authoritative advice on complex casework, policy, legislation and practice to relevant staff.
• Provide accurate advice to senior managers on professional child protection practice issues and service delivery responses.
