NSW Department of Communities and Justice invites applications for Child Protection Caseworker positions across Armidale, Glen Innes, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri and Tamworth. These ongoing roles focus on safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people, with home visits and court involvement as needed.

The role requires engaging with families, planning safety measures, and collaborating with agencies to manage high-needs cases.

Qualifications

• Completed or in final semester of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, Social Science and Welfare with practical experience.
• Other related degrees considered if you can demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• A valid driver’s licence (P1 or above).
• A paid working with children clearance number.

Responsabilités

• Respond to safety concerns about children or young people.
• Work with parents and families and with other agencies to solve complex problems.
• Assist families to set goals addressing safety and wellbeing and provide home-based support.
• Develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
• Manage cases including high-needs and high-risk families.
• Involvement in court processes, including preparing court documents and attending court.
• Participate in supervision sessions.
