Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Coonamble, NSW is seeking a Child Protection Caseworker for Western NSW. You will respond to reports of safety concerns involving children or young people and work with families and other agencies to identify risks and safety planning.

The role requires a degree in social work or related field, strong communication, a valid driver’s license, and Working with Children Check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, social science or welfare.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with vulnerable children, young people and families.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reports about safety concerns surrounding children or young people.
• Work with parents, family members and high-risk clients with sensitivity.
• Develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
• Manage cases including high-needs families and attend court when required.
• Prepare court documents and participate in supervision.
