Job summary

Edge Early Learning in Port Pirie is seeking a Chef to create nutritious, seasonal meals for children from 6 weeks to school age. You'll work with educators to integrate food and learning and manage the kitchen in a supportive centre environment.

The role emphasizes allergy-aware menus, Australian dietary guidelines, and maintaining high hygiene standards. Monday to Friday daytime hours with opportunities for professional development and career growth within the Edge network.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA-approved Early Childhood qualification.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Knowledge of Australian dietary guidelines.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday during centre operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for children aged 6 weeks to school age.
• Develop menus using Feed Australia guidelines while accommodating allergies and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean and compliant kitchen environment.
• Manage ordering, stock control and minimise food waste.
• Partner with educators to make food and nutrition part of learning experiences.
