Job summary

Direct Care Resources is seeking Support Workers to assist children and young people across Logan and Ipswich. The role focuses on stability, trust-building and enabling participation in community activities within out-of-home care settings.

You will support attendance at school and appointments, help develop daily living skills, and work with a team to maintain consistent, safe care. Training, induction and ongoing supervision are provided to support your professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold, be completing or be enrolled in a relevant minimum Certificate IV qualification.
• Certificate IV qualifications cover child, youth and family intervention, youth work, community services or mental health.

Responsibilities

• Build safe, respectful and consistent relationships with children and young people.
• Provide day-to-day support within a home environment.
• Support school attendance, appointments, activities and community participation.
• Help young people develop everyday living skills, routines and independence.
• Use trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations and behaviours.
• Maintain professional boundaries while creating a supportive environment.
• Administer medication in line with individual plans and DCR procedures.
• Complete accurate shift notes, handovers and incident documentation.
• Work closely with colleagues and other stakeholders to provide consistent care.
