Job summary

Direct Care Resources is seeking Disability & Child Safety Support Workers to assist children and young people in care across South East Queensland. You will build trusting relationships, support daily living skills, and promote community participation within home environments.

You will bring experience with vulnerable youth, strong communication, and a genuine commitment to safety and development, with flexible AM, PM, weekend and sleepover shifts offered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people, preferably in care or youth settings.
• Ability to work independently and within a care team.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to safety, wellbeing and development of young people.

Responsibilities

• Build safe, respectful relationships with children and young people.
• Provide day-to-day support within a home environment.
• Support school attendance, appointments, activities and community participation.
• Help young people develop routines and independence.
• Use trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.
• Respond calmly to challenging situations and behaviours.
• Maintain professional boundaries and a supportive environment.
• Complete accurate shift notes and incident documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure consistent care.
