Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia seeks a Chief Systems Architect to lead AIR6500 JABMS architecture, aligning requirements, design, and verification with strategic Defence objectives. You will drive governance across the lifecycle and collaborate with Defence stakeholders, suppliers and engineering teams to shape the future of Australia's Integrated Air and Missile Defence capability.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading architecture and systems engineering on large Defence System-of-Systems programs.
• Deep expertise across lifecycle stages: requirements, design, integration, testing, verification and sustainment.
• Proven ability to lead trade studies, governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of MBSE, SysML and architectural frameworks; experience with modern requirements tools.
• Experience delivering capability within highly integrated engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance and governance of AIR6500 JABMS architecture across the full lifecycle.
• Review and endorse subsystem designs aligned with the AIR6500 JABMS architecture.
• Translate customer/regulatory/operational needs into architectural solutions and baselines.
• Drive architecture trade studies, decision-making, requirements management and V&V strategy.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation and assurance while maintaining traceability.
• Engage with Defence customers, suppliers and engineering teams to achieve consensus on outcomes.
• Mentor architects and engineers, promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
