Job summary

Office of Parliamentary Counsel in Canberra is seeking a senior People leader to shape and deliver our people strategy, attracting, developing and retaining a high-performing workforce aligned to our legislative and strategic objectives.

You will lead the People Team, deliver contemporary HR practices, advise executives on wellbeing, safety, engagement and capability, and ensure compliance with APS-wide policies and legislation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in human resources with a strategic focus.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple urgent priorities and complex matters.
• Experience developing and implementing workplace strategies and providing high‑level HR advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the People Team and delivery of contemporary, compliant HR management practices across the organisation.
• Develop and lead the organisation's people strategy to attract, develop, engage and retain a high‑performing workforce.
• Support the executive to manage wellbeing, safety, engagement, capability, attraction and retention within APS frameworks.
