Job summary

Murweh Shire Council is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead strategic direction and operational delivery across the organisation, report to the Mayor, and act as the principal staff officer linking elected members with the council.

You will oversee core functions including strategic planning, financial management and human resources, build high-performing teams and guide organisational change while ensuring service excellence.

Qualifications

• Tertiary or postgraduate qualification in management, business administration or a related discipline
• Significant leadership experience managing complex portfolios across diverse technical disciplines
• Strong fiscal management experience and demonstrated success in local, state or federal government environments
• Contemporary management practice knowledge including delegation, performance management and succession planning
• Highly developed project management skills
• Strong customer service focus and commitment to continuous improvement
• Ability to communicate with clarity and influence
• Flexibility to work beyond standard hours when needed
• Permanent full-time contract for 3-5 years
• Base Salary: $250,000 per year
• Superannuation: 12% of base salary

As Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the council's strategic direction and operational delivery.
