Job description

Tresillian

Chief Executive Officer

Based Wollstonecraft, Sydney

Founded in 1918, Tresillian is Australia’s largest early parenting service. From 26 locations across NSW, the ACT and Tasmania, our team of more than 370 supports new parents with breastfeeding, nutrition, settling and mental health, through residential, day stay, outreach, virtual and community-based care. Our tried and trusted programs have supported generations of families over 100 years, helping babies grow and thrive and laying the foundations for future learning and wellbeing. Our vision is simple: that every child has the best possible start in life.

Tresillian is moving forward with purpose. Our 2025–2027 Strategic Plan sets out a clear agenda to widen access to evidence-based care, develop our workforce, secure our long-term financial position and invest in research and innovation. Priorities include building our digital capability, strengthening our major donor and bequest programs and supporting the continued sustainable growth of the organisation.

Tresillian is led by an experienced Board and an established executive leadership team. Following the retirement of our CEO after 13 successful years, we are now seeking the next CEO to lead the organisation into its next chapter. Reporting to the Board and managing a budget of $45 million, the CEO will:

  • Lead delivery of the 2025–2027 Strategic Plan and shape Tresillian’s next phase of growth, with world-class service delivery and financial sustainability at its core.
  • Lead the executive leadership team to deliver safe, high-quality child and family health services across multiple sites, models of care and jurisdictions.
  • Strengthen clinical governance, quality and safety, and uphold accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Support the Board as Company Secretary, ensuring sound governance, risk management and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with government, health services, researchers and community partners, and advocate for the needs of babies, children, parents and families.
  • Improve access to care for underserved families, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, fathers, and families in regional and remote areas.
  • Grow and diversify revenue through grants, philanthropy, major donors and bequests.
  • Build workforce capability and a values-led culture that supports staff wellbeing, safety and engagement.
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation.

We are seeking an experienced health or human services CEO who has led complex, multi-site organisations and turned strategy into measurable outcomes. You will demonstrate a proven track record of driving commercial results, securing funding channels and building collaborative relationships with government agencies and multiple stakeholder groups. Experience in children and family services, or an adjacent field, will be highly regarded, as will postgraduate qualifications and AICD or equivalent governance credentials. Above all, you will lead with integrity, courage and a collaborative, inclusive style that reflects Tresillian’s values.

This is a rare opportunity to succeed a long-serving and highly regarded CEO, and to guide a trusted organisation that makes a difference to families from the very first days of parenthood.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold current working rights in Australia.

Applications close – Sunday 25th October.
