Job summary

CommBank is seeking a Chief Engineer - Engineering Data Platform to lead the roadmap, architecture and governance of the Engineering Data Platform. This role will establish trusted, governed and reusable data products enabling data-driven decision making and AI-enabled engineering across the bank.

You will report to the General Manager Engineering Platform, set technical direction and uplift engineering practices, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with CTO, Risk, Security and Service

The Chief Engineer - Engineering Data Platform will be a core technical leader shaping the roadmap and architecture of the CTO Engineering Data Platform. This role will establish trusted, governed and reusable engineering data products that enable data-driven decision making, engineering intelligence and AI-enabled engineering capabilities across the organisation.

Reporting to the General Manager Engineering Platform, you will define the technical direction, target state architecture and engineering standards for the Engineering Data Platform. You will work across Engineering Platform, CTO, Group Data, Architecture, Risk, Security and Service Management to deliver scalable, resilient and secure data platform capabilities.

As a Chief Engineer, you will operate as a senior technical authority and trusted advisor - leading through technical depth, strong architectural judgement and enterprise influence - while mentoring engineers and uplifting engineering practices across the platform.
