Job summary

You will mentor senior engineers, drive modern software practices, and reduce complexity while maintaining critical services.

Qualifications

Senior engineering leader with architectural judgement.
Experience modernising large-scale estates and communicating decisions to senior stakeholders.
Deep knowledge of modern software architecture including cloud, distributed systems and microservices.
Design of resilient, highly available systems with security and risk controls.
Strong delivery discipline with automation, CI/CD and quality at scale.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction and build a culture of engineering excellence.
Shape architectural roadmaps across customer service including digital, assisted and AI-enabled experiences.
Lead modernisation across legacy and future-state platforms with reduced debt and preserved services.
Establish reusable service domains, APIs, events and engineering patterns across the Group.
Develop foundations for customer context, journey orchestration, voice, messaging and AI experiences.
Drive modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing and observability.
Ensure resilience, security and operational risk management in critical services from the outset.
Mentor senior engineers and influence leaders across product, architecture, cyber and risk.
