nib is seeking a visionary Chief Data & AI Officer to shape the future of data, AI, and technology across the enterprise. You will lead a cross-functional function to drive growth, improve customer outcomes, and enhance operational performance through trusted data and intelligent systems.

Reporting to the Group Chief Technology & Transformation Officer, you will define the strategy, build scalable platforms, and partner with executives to embed data-driven decision-making at every level of nib.

Reporting to the Group Chief Technology & Transformation Officer, the Chief Data & AI Officer is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for transforming data and AI into strategic capabilities that accelerate growth, improve customer outcomes, enhance operational performance, and enable better decision-making across the enterprise.

As a member of the Technology & Transformation Leadership Team, you will:

• Define and execute an enterprise Data & AI strategy aligned to our growth ambitions
• Lead the evolution of our data platform, machine learning, and AI capabilities
• Establish and scale AI as a practical, value-generating capability across the business
• Build a high-performing Data & AI function that balances innovation with governance and trust
• Partner with executive leaders to embed data-driven decision-making into every part of the organisation
• Shape industry conversations and represent nib externally on emerging data, AI, and technology trends
• Advise Executive Leadership and Board stakeholders on opportunities, risks, and strategic investments in Data & AI

About you

You are a contemporary executive leader with a track record of translating emerging technologies into measurable business outcomes.

You bring:

• Deep expertise across data, analytics, AI, digital transformation, or technology leadership
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data platforms and AI initiatives
• Strong commercial acumen and an ability to connect technology investments to strategic outcomes
• Credibility influencing boards, executive teams, and senior business stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical data concepts to different stakeholders across the enterprise
• A passion for building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
• The ability to navigate complexity while bringing clarity, momentum, and focus
