Job summary

High Speed Rail Authority is seeking a Head of Compliance to embed regulatory obligations into daily operations during the Development Phase. You will provide assurance to senior management, the Board and the Audit and Risk Committee, reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, and build enterprise-wide compliance frameworks.

Flexible working arrangements are available in Sydney, Newcastle or Canberra.

Qualifications

Demonstrated understanding of Commonwealth statutory context in which HSRA operates.
Experience in a compliance, risk or governance role within a complex or regulated organisation.
Experience establishing and maintaining compliance registers, reporting and breach management processes.

Responsibilities

Lead compliance activities during the Development Phase and embed obligations into day-to-day operations.
Develop and maintain enterprise-wide compliance frameworks, policies and culture.
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders including Executive Leadership Team, auditors, regulators and government agencies.
Oversee the operational compliance programme with governance, monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
Ensure management systems, tools and controls support timely escalation of issues.
