Job summary

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive expertise in civil engineering, including water, sewerage, roads, and asset management.
• Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets, capital works programs, and complex projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a record of building positive partnerships.
• A leadership style that inspires excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, and the values of local government service.
• Experience in local government, state public sector, emergency management, quarry operations, project management, GIS, or postgraduate qualifications in engineering/management.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level advice to the General Manager, Mayor, and Councillors on infrastructure and asset management matters
• Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality civil works, maintenance, and capital projects
• Oversee strategic planning, financial management, and contract administration within the Directorate
• Foster strong community and stakeholder relationships, ensuring transparency, safety, and collaboration
• Drive continuous improvement, compliance, and innovation across infrastructure and service delivery
