Job summary

Staff Needed is seeking experienced Chefs to join our Queensland team, flying from Brisbane/Townsville to work across busy kitchen operations, preparing meals for a variety of venues. You will require a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, at least 3 years’ experience in busy kitchens, strong food safety knowledge, and leadership and communication skills.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen.

• Flexibility to travel; shifts include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Willing to obtain a National Police Check within 6 months.
• Australian work rights or eligibility to work in Australia.

The Role

We’re seeking experienced and passionate Chefs to join our regional Queensland team. Fly from Brisbane/Townsville and work across busy kitchen operations preparing high-volume, nutritious meals for a variety of venues.

• Solid experience in a busy pub/tavern kitchen
• Confident with pub classics and modern bistro-style menus
• Assist with prep, stock rotation, and kitchen cleanliness
• Prepare and cook menu items to a consistent, high standard
• Be fit and able to work long shifts with lifting and moving.

Requirements

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experienceworking as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
• Passion for creating high-quality food and memorable dining experiences.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Food Safety certification.
• Flexibility to travel for work. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• You will be required to obtain a National Police Check, should you not have one dated within the last 6 months.

Desirable

• Experience with modern Australian cuisine, steaks, burgers, seafood, and grill.
• Understanding of dietary requirements, allergies, and special dietary requests.
• Experience with menu costing and stock management.
• Australian work rights or eligibility to work in Australia.
