Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Chef.
• Proven leadership experience in kitchen management.
• Experience in aged care is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergen management and WHS requirements.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
• Lead, mentor and support kitchen staff to deliver high-quality food service.
• Prepare and oversee nutritious meals that meet residents' needs and preferences.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements are met.
• Support menu planning and ensure meals meet dietary requirements.
• Manage food preparation, cooking and presentation to a high standard.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation.
• Collaborate with care staff to meet residents' dietary and nutritional needs.
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and documentation.
• Promote a positive, respectful and collaborative kitchen environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve kitchen processes and dining experiences.
