Job summary

The Flavour Gallery in Boronia, VIC is seeking two qualified Chefs to join a fast-paced kitchen team. You will deliver high-quality dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and contribute to menu development in a professional setting.

The role requires a formal Australian cookery qualification, at least 3 years’ full-time experience, and a proven ability with Italian cuisine. You will supervise staff, plan menus, and ensure safe, clean kitchen operations, including weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Australian trade qualification in cookery and Italian cuisine experience.
• Minimum of 3 years full-time experience as a Chef in Australia.
• Ability to prepare dishes and contribute to menu development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with menu requirements.
• Develop and contribute to menu planning and seasonal specials.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff as required.
• Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.
• Follow workplace health and safety and food safety standards.

The Flavour Gallery, located in Boronia, VIC, is seeking two qualified and experienced Chefs to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Salary: Range =$76,000 to 80,000 per annum + Superannuation

About the Role

As a Chef, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to menu development in a busy and professional setting.

Key Requirements

• Australian trade qualification (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery) and Diploma or higher in Hospitality/Management
• Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a Chef in Australia
• Experience in Italian Cuisine is necessary.
• Ability to prepare all dishes displayed on menu as well as wide ranging specials from different cuisines.
• Experience in catering for functions will be an advantage
• Experience in planning menus, developing recipes, preparing, cooking and maintaining food quality
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Instruct cooks and other kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Select and train kitchen staff as and when required
• Ability to maintain a clean kitchen and use kitchen appliances and equipment safely.
• Ability to maintain a COVID safe workplace.
• May need to work varied shifts as also on weekends
