Job summary

Next Generation Health & Lifestyle Club in Ryde is seeking a qualified Chef or Cook to join the team on a casual basis, supporting the Food & Beverage Team and delivering quality service.

You will work across a 7-day roster with flexible hours; this role may be suitable as a second job, and growth opportunities exist with support for development. Proof of right to work in Australia will be required at interview.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is desirable.
• Experience in restaurant or banquet food preparation.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about all things food.
• Team player and comfortable in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to operate the kitchen within budget and maintain food hygiene compliance.
• Work across a 7-day roster with flexible hours; second job encouraged as needed.
• Adhere to HACCP and health and safety standards and contribute ideas to service quality.

About the Role

You will work closely with the Food & Beverage Team and play your part in ensuring the kitchen operates within its agreed budgets, and that food hygiene and health and safety compliance is maintained at all times.

The role requires you to work across a 7-day roster, however please note:

• Your hours will be allocated in collaboration with you and we would be happy if this was a second job;
• You will not be required to work every weekend if this is your preference;
• We will support your growth and development and hours may increase for the right candidate;
• You will become a valued team member and treated accordingly
• Your input and ideas will be heard.

About You

• It would be desirable, but not essential for you to hold a Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery
• Experience is great - a positive attitude is even better!
• You will be enthusiastic and passionate about all things food
• You are a team player and enjoy working in a hands on environment
• Restaurant and banquet food preparation or willingness to learn
• Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to maintain kitchen protocols such as HACCP
• Proven track record of collaborating within a team environment
