Job summary

Cater Care is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College in North Sydney. This permanent, full‑time role runs Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm, delivering fresh, nutritious food for students and staff.

You’ll manage day‑to‑day kitchen operations, supervise a team, oversee bulk cooking for a busy education environment, and uphold food safety, cleanliness and presentation while promoting a positive, service‑oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Trade Certification recognised by culinary industry.
• Food Safety Supervisor certification.
• RSA certification.
• Experience in high-volume kitchen or bulk cooking.
• Strong kitchen management and food preparation skills.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Commitment to quality, safety and customer service.
• Excellent communication and team‑oriented attitude.
• Working With Children Check and Flu Vaccination required.

Chef Manager
Permanent | Full Time | Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm
$90,000 + super | 40 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced Chef Manager to take the lead in the kitchen at Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College in North Sydney.

This is a role where your skills go beyond the plate. You’ll be responsible for delivering fresh, quality food every day while helping create a welcoming, well-run kitchen environment for students, staff and your team. As this is an educational environment, you can enjoy something that’s increasingly hard to find in hospitality - a Monday to Friday roster, daytime hours and your evenings and weekends back.

What you’ll be responsible for

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operation, including:

• Leading and managing kitchen operations with confidence and care
• Preparing fresh, nutritious and high-quality food
• Delivering bulk cooking for a busy education environment
• Working hands-on across all areas of the kitchen
• Providing friendly, professional customer service
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and presentation
• Working independently and using your initiative to keep service running smoothly
• Supporting a positive, respectful and inclusive kitchen culture

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring:

• A recognised Trade Certification
• Food Safety Supervisor certification
• RSA
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally including high-volume or bulk cooking
• Strong food preparation and kitchen management skills
• The ability to work independently and make decisions confidently
• A genuine commitment to quality, safety and customer service
• Great communication skills and a team-first attitude

A Working With Children Check and Flu Vaccination are required for this position.
