Qualifications

• Trade Chef qualification or equivalent recognised culinary trade credential.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor certification.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or high-volume catering is highly desirable.
• Strong bulk-cooking experience and ability to prepare texture-modified foods.
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; hands-on and independent.
• Ability to own and lead kitchen operations from the front.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure meals are prepared safely and to high standards.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day kitchen activities.
• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals through efficient bulk cooking.
• Create texture-modified meals and accommodate dietary requirements.
• Coordinate tray service and meal distribution to residents.
• Build positive relationships with residents, staff and wider team.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
• Manage food preparation and kitchen workflow; deliver professional service.
• Work confidently and independently to run the kitchen.
