Job summary

Bupa Kempsey is seeking a Chef Manager to lead a dynamic kitchen team in a modern aged care home on the Mid North Coast of NSW. You will oversee daily dining services, ensuring nutritious meals meet residents’ preferences and dietary needs while maintaining high standards and compliance.

The role requires a Certificate in Commercial Cookery and prior experience in aged care, hotels, or restaurants. Strong leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder liaison skills are essential to success in this

Qualifications

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.
• Aged Care / Hotel/Restaurant experience preferred.
• Ideally you would have previous experience in a similar role.
• Effective time management and budget management are important.
• Experience leading a team and managing budgets is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for residents.
• Collaborate with Lifestyle team to plan and cater activities and events.
• Meet specialist dietary requirements (e.g. diabetes, weight management).
• Prepare main dishes for lunch and dinner.
• Oversee washing, preparation and cooking of all foods daily.
• Ensure meals are prepared fresh using seasonal produce.
• Manage food purchasing, storage, handling and preparation.
• Implement infection control practices per policy.
• Complete paperwork per duty list and QA processes.
• Identify training needs for Catering staff and equipment safety.
