Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a qualified Chef to support kitchen operations at a modern aged care facility in Lake Cathie, NSW. This daytime role offers a stable alternative to traditional hospitality schedules, with no late nights, reporting to the Chef Manager and overseeing bulk meal preparation.

Based in the Lake Cathie Manor area (NSW 2445), the position pays about $32.13 per hour with a Thu/Fri 6am–2pm roster and weekend hours 9am–5pm on Sat/Sun.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) is required.
• Experience in fast-paced kitchens, preferably in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or commercial catering.
• Ability to plan textures-modified and therapeutic diets for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Culinary Leadership: Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure high-quality, efficient, and timely meal services.


• Tailored Dining & Nutrition: Prepare standard menus as well as specialized, texture-modified, and therapeutic diets tailored to residents' needs.


• Quality Assurance: Maintain high culinary standards, ensuring food flavor, optimal temperature, and appealing visual presentation.


• Safety & Compliance: Uphold rigorous food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards across all shifts.


• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with staff to foster a productive, positive, and supportive kitchen culture.
