Job summary

Kuranda Rainforest View Restaurant in Queensland is seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for food preparation, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard in a busy dining environment.

You will maintain food safety and hygiene, contribute to menu planning and seasonal changes, and work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver a memorable dining experience in a unique rainforest setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (e.g., Certificate III).
• Experience as a Chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes to high standards.
• Assist with menu planning and seasonal changes.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage stock, ordering and food supplies.
• Support junior kitchen staff and training.
• Ensure daily kitchen opening and closing procedures.
