Job summary

Discovery Kings Canyon, part of the G’day Group, invites a skilled Chef de Partie to join our remote outback kitchen at Kings Canyon Resort. You’ll own your section, contribute to menu development, and help deliver exceptional dining to guests from around the world.

This role requires Commercial Cookery qualifications, experience in fast-paced kitchens, strong food safety practices, and a proactive, mentoring approach to junior staff. A genuine passion for hospitality and creativity is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Commis Chef ready to step into the next stage.
• Relevant trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent industry experience).
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens, with remote, resort or tourism experience highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes across restaurant service and staff dining, ensuring consistency and exceptional presentation.
• Work closely with the Head Chef on menu development, recipe preparation, ordering and stock control.
• Monitor portion control, food quality, stock rotation and wastage to support cost-effective kitchen operations.
• Supervise and support junior chefs, sharing knowledge and contributing to a positive team culture.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness in line with Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
• Assist with kitchen administration, stocktakes and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
