Job summary

K’gari Beach Resort, part of SeaLink Marine & Tourism and within the Kelsian Group, is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team on K’gari. You will plan menus, prepare and cook dishes, and guide the kitchen team to deliver quality dining across resort outlets.

The role requires leadership, strong organisational skills, and a Food Safety course, with a base salary between AU$75,000 and AU$80,000. Fraser Island location offers a vibrant, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef in hospitality.
• Food Safety Course essential; RSA desirable.
• Experience in high-volume, multi-outlet resort or hotel kitchen.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals following recipes and standards.
• Assist Head Chef with menu planning, seasonal development and costing.
• Maintain food quality, portion control and timely service across kitchen ops.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, inventory and waste reduction.
• Lead and mentor junior staff and kitchen apprentices.
• Coordinate kitchen activities for smooth high-volume service.
• Collaborate with front-of-house for accurate meal service.
• Support setup of on-site and off-site kitchen facilities as needed.
• Monitor equipment and maintain clean, safe work areas.
