Job summary

K’gari Beach Resort on K’gari (Fraser Island) is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to support the delivery of high-quality dishes across resort outlets. You will lead by example, plan menus, and maintain safe, efficient kitchen operations in a vibrant, high-volume environment.

The role is based at K’gari Beach Resort with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to cost control and menu development. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a Chef.
• Food Safety Course essential; RSA desirable.
• Experience in a high-volume, multi-outlet resort or hotel kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals according to recipes and standards.
• Assist Head Chef with menu planning, seasonal development and costing.
• Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, presentation and timely service.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety compliance.
• Support stock levels, ordering, inventory control and stocktakes to minimise waste.
• Monitor food costs and contribute to productivity and profitability initiatives.
• Lead, train and supervise junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Coordinate preparation and service for smooth high-volume operations.
• Liaise with front-of-house to ensure accurate and timely guest service.
