Job summary

Song Hotel Sydney, operated in collaboration with YWCA Australia, seeks an experienced Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team in a purpose‑driven hotel. You will deliver high‑quality dishes, collaborate on menus, and support training while maintaining exceptional guest experiences.

You will work with a professional team in a central Sydney CBD location, contributing to consistent standards, cost awareness, and efficient service across breakfast, dinner and catering.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a professional kitchen and producing high‑quality dishes.
• Ability to respond to customer feedback professionally and continuously improve service.
• Experience across breakfast, dinner and catering services.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork across kitchen and operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook high‑quality dishes for breakfast and dinner services.
• Manage and oversee the assigned kitchen section to meet high standards.
• Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to develop menus and improve presentation.
• Assist with menu planning, cost estimates for food and labour.
• Monitor quality, consistency and presentation throughout preparation and service.
• Ensure meals are prepared and delivered timely with top taste and portion control.
• Work across grill, sauté and preparation stations during peak service.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace safety across areas.
• Handle storage, preservation and preparation per industry standards.
• Train and support junior kitchen staff; assist with staff selection when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workstation; support high-volume events.
• Adapt to changing service requirements and work well in a diverse team.
• Collaborate with front-of-house for smooth service delivery.
