ALPHA GLOBAL CATERING PTY LIMITED WERRI WAVES BISTRO BY SYMEON & CO is seeking experienced Chef de Partie and Cook to join our kitchen team in Werri Beach, NSW. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting quality dishes, supporting daily kitchen operations and upholding high standards of safety and hygiene.

The role requires relevant commercial cookery qualifications, strong cooking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or higher, or a related discipline is required.
• Minimum 1 year of proven experience in a fast-paced and quality-driven kitchen environment.
• Passionate about cooking and delivering high-quality food.
• Punctual, reliable and hard-working.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure during busy service periods.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes according to menu and business standards.
• Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure quality, freshness and suitability for preparation.
• Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation, cooking and presentation.
• Assist with planning menus and estimating food requirements based on customer demand and operational needs.
• Assist with estimating food costs and monitoring ingredient usage and wastage.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food supplies and kitchen ingredients.
• Store food correctly in temperature-controlled facilities and follow stock rotation procedures.
• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements where required.
• Discuss food preparation and service matters with senior chefs, kitchen staff, management and front-of-house staff.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on food preparation and cooking procedures where required.
• Maintain consistent portioning, plating and presentation standards.
• Ensure food is prepared efficiently and served on time during busy service periods.
• Explain, follow and enforce food hygiene, food safety and kitchen cleanliness requirements.
• Maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Assist with training and supporting junior kitchen staff or apprentices.
• Work cooperatively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
