Job summary

Tahmoor Inn in Tahmoor NSW is seeking a hard-working, experienced and dynamic Chef for our culinary team. You will work in a brand new, purpose-built kitchen designed to accommodate the growing needs of this busy venue, trading 7 days a week.

Join a team that prides itself on great food, from pub classics to seasonal specials, with opportunities for growth. Visa sponsorship available after six months for exceptional team members, and accommodation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Chef is required.
  • Experience in all sections including larder, fryers, pans and grill.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with high volumes.
  • Understanding of stock control and waste minimisation.
  • Knowledge of all kitchen procedures, food handling and workplace safety.
  • Food safety certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
  • Cooking of all sections, including grill, pans, fryers and larder
  • Ensure appealing plate presentation
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • This role will involve day, night and weekend work.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hard working, experienced and dynamic Chef for our culinary team. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, cares about their team and has a growth mindset. You will be working in a brand new, purpose built kitchen, designed to accommodate the growing needs of this busy venue.

We would like a team-member who is passionate about producing great food, from pub classics to fresh & seasonal specials. If you take advantage of this terrific opportunity and are successful, you will work with a great team who aspire to produce consistent, quality meals, trading 7 days a week. The team also likes to have fun at work.

Our venue is large and is currently undergoing renovations - due to be complete late 2026, so this venue is very busy and fast paced.

482/494 Visa sponsorship available after six months full time, for exceptional team members. We do not sponsor 186 Permanent Resident visas at the time. Assistance with accommodation available.
