Job summary

The Comiskey Group is seeking a chef/cook for the Samford Hotel in Queensland. This full-time role requires flexibility to work across all kitchen sections and contributes to a large team of experienced chefs within the Comiskey Group. Applicants should have at least 1 year of relevant experience and ideally hold vocational or tertiary qualifications. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic hotel kitchen undergoing renovation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to high standards; supervise other kitchen staff.
• Inspect cleanliness and functionality of supplies, equipment and work areas.

• Communicate with management about prep and service issues.
• Follow directives and be responsible for food service.
• Ensure food quality remains top standards.

The Comiskey Group requires chefs and cooks for the Samford Hotel.

This position requires the flexibility to work throughout all sections of the kitchen operation.

This position has prospects for career development and the opportunity to learn and grow within a large team of experienced chefs and throughout the Comiskey Groups businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• To prepare, cook and present food for the highest standard possible- Supervising and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.
• Inspecting supplies, equipment's and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
• Ordering and maintain inventory of food and supplies.
• Communicate with management regarding issues relating to preparation and service in the restaurant
• Follows directives and be responsible and accountable for food service.
• Ensuring food preparation and quality is of the highest standard possible

Applicant must have at least 1-Year of relevant employment experience
