Job summary

Maylands Hotel, part of Matthews Hospitality Group, is seeking a hands-on Chef to join a busy pub kitchen delivering quality food across all-day dining and functions. You’ll be part of a supportive team with strong leadership and a focus on consistency, teamwork, and quality.

Ideal candidates are reliable, calm under pressure, with Cert III in Commercial Cookery and experience in fast-paced kitchens. Availability across evenings, weekends, and public holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified in Commercial Cookery (Cert III)
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen
• Reliable and team-focused
• Willing to work across a 7-day roster including weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard
• Support leadership and wider kitchen team
• Follow food safety, allergen and hygiene requirements
• Assist with stock control and minimise waste
• Keep your section clean and service-ready
