Job summary

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a Part-Time Chef for an aged care facility in Young, NSW. Reporting to the Chef Manager, you will deliver nutritious meals and maintain high QA and food safety standards.

The role runs Friday to Sunday, 6:30am to 3:00pm, with emphasis on teamwork and patient-centric service. The successful candidate will hold a Cert III in commercial cookery (desirable) and possess good organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume

Qualifications

• 3+ years'experience in a similar role (aged care experience highly regarded).
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable.
• Experience in large volume cooking; able to work autonomously and in group settings.
• Reliable and punctual; collaborative team player.
• Ability to multi-task; meet deadlines.
• Experience in ordering, delivery and stock handling/control.
• Empathy and respect towards residents, staff and clients.
• High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
• Must have reliable transport.
• Ability to prepare high quality meals per aged care guidelines; assist with menus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality dining experiences for residents.
• Assist with menu design, changes and implementation.
• Order, receive and manage stock; assist with deliveries and kitchen cleanup.
• Prepare meals including special diets (gluten-free, purees, texture modified).
• Work within HACCP guidelines and QA procedures.
• Operate in a busy kitchen while collaborating with the team.

About the role

Are you passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals and making a real difference every day? We are looking for an enthusiastic Part-Time Chef to join our team at a welcoming aged care facility in Young, NSW.

Reporting directly to the Chef Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality dining experiences for our residents in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Shift Schedule: Friday to Sunday from 6.30am till 3.00pm.

What You’ll Need: A current Federal Police Check, or willingness to obtain one

Skills and experience

• 3+ years'experience in a similar role -aged care experience highly regarded.

• Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc.Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
